The New Year’s Seven Sevens Meme!
---> December 30th, 2005 by annie
The lovely lady at Blest With Sons tagged me for a meme! I have been wanting to do the seven sevens one, and I like this one even better. Thanks BWS! BTW - her blog is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Be sure to check it out if you haven’t. A few of these I actually stole directly from her. I think we may be quite alike in a few ways.
This took me awhile and was harder than I thought, especially the movie section. I don’t know that I even saw 7 new movies last year. I don’t know if I even saw seven movies at all last year, not counting dozens of partial viewings of Mary Poppins and VeggieTales. I’m really not usually a movie person. Some of you might be shocked at my choices and begin a boycott of my blog, but I like to laugh and the previews of these looked funny . . . I haven’t seen them yet, so let me know if I have choosen anything too awful.
Speaking of Steve Carell, have y’all watched “The Office” TV shows? They are hysterical. My hubby and I die laughing and have tevo-copied all of them. Anyone who liked the movie “Office Space” will love ‘em. Carell is an amazing comedic actor.

Pretty cool. But of course you know, the purist in me absolutely revolts at the new P&P. I refuse to acknowledge it. So there!

How funny! You suddenly popped into my mind when I was doing dishes, so I popped in to your blog and here you are tagging me
I wish I could stop cleaning our atrocious kitchen and do this fun meme but I’m going to be a good girl and finish the dishes first…(I shouldn’t even be here, but you “called” to me
Real quick and then I’m going…from your book list, I’ve read Till We Have Faces and totally recommend it, though it’s my least favorite of Lewis’ fiction. Which means it’s really good but not awesome–just my opinion. I’m still working through Silmarillion but am almost done–couldn’t have done it without the glossary of characters! As for the movies, I have Anne of Green Gables, the Continuing Story, but haven’t watched it because my blog readers told me it was terrible (feminist type stuff) and would ruin the joy I experienced from the other two films. So if you do watch it, I’m curious to know what you think…
I share all your goals except I’d change sewing to filing (four years worth).

Just a heads-up on the Coach Carter movie from a die hard basketball fan…it’s pro-choice. It made me sick because the rest of the movie was good (well, the plot was good, I could do with a bit less cursing and teenage umm…”galivanting”?)
I think the Coach did a great thing for the boys…it’s not a total waste of time, watching the movie, but I wanted to warn you of the problems I had with it.

BTW, this is a lovely blog!

Funny that Marla said she was thinking of you then found the tag. Same thing happened w/me. Actually, I was thinking specifically about your dear Ella Noel, but w/out you there would be no her.
I’m horrible at getting meme’s done, but maybe that can be one of my 7 things to get done in 2006…that gives me a year, which is how long in blog years?

[…] Thanks so much to Annie, the Chief Executive Mom for tagging me for this meme! It was really quite helpful and took an awful long time! Now I have some idea of where I want to go for the New Year. […]

Bethany - thank you for the movie info! My mom bough us the movie, so we will give it a watch. For the most part, things I disagree with in movies don’t bother or affect me too much unless they are the central point of the movie in a heavily propaganda like way. I am just not sensitive in that way. I have to watch out for violence and “scary” movies, which make me stumble and fall into fear. For me, that is the weakness I have to guard against.
Lexie - Thanks for thinking of us! I look foreward to reading about yourgoals for 2006 if you are able to get it posted!

Chewy - can’t wait to read your meme! Tommy has worked on my feeds before when someone else said it wouldn’t work . . . its a wordpress problem I am told, but that it still works on bloglines (I think) . . . He said he would look at it again. Sorry! I hope we can get it straightened out soon.
